Regional AIDS Interfaith Network

A Faith Based Approach to HIV Care & Prevention

Faith communities play a vital role in providing leadership, ministry, and education on issues related to HIV and AIDS. From education programs to comprehensive AIDS ministries, congregations around the world have become important partners in the fight against AIDS.

Recognizing that faith communities may need support in establishing these kinds of programs, Evergreen Health Services (EHS) established RAIN, a network of leaders of faith communities from around Western New York. Together, EHS staff and representatives from RAIN can provide support and training to faith communities that are interested in offering HIV and AIDS related programs including:

  • HIV prevention education programs to small groups or congregations
  • Training for faith community leaders and educators
  • Support and information for individuals and families in your congregation affected by HIV/AIDS
  • On-site HIV testing and other health services including blood pressure and diabetes screening
  • HIV educational resources and information for bulletins and newsletters

If you are interested in joining RAIN or in meeting with someone to discuss how your faith community can become more involved in HIV/AIDS work, please contact:
